This role demands a seasoned professional with expertise in both automatic cam and CNC Swiss style machining processes, ensuring optimal efficiency, quality, and adherence to industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Direct and oversee daily operations of the screw machine production department.
Resolve day-to-day issues promptly, analyze production reports, and ensure timely project completion.
Process Optimization:
Continuously evaluate and enhance production processes and machinery for increased efficiency, reduced lead times, and sustained high-quality standards.
Team Management:
Lead, train, and mentor production staff to achieve performance goals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Ensure maximum utilization of skills, equipment, and materials through guidance and training.
Equipment Maintenance:
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for machines.
Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with maintenance teams for optimal machine performance.
Oversee refurbishment and installation of new equipment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to meet production schedules and exceed customer expectations.
Collaborate with other supervisors to determine budget needs and justify expenses.
Qualifications:
10
years of proven experience in Swiss style screw machine production, specializing in automatic cam and/or CNC machines (Tornos primarily, Bechler, Escomatic, Citizen).
Demonstrated leadership skills with a 3-5 year track record of managing and developing diverse production teams.
In-depth knowledge of Swiss style machining processes, equipment, and tooling.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Experience with planning, scheduling, and reviewing the work and performance of subordinates.
Ability to read blueprints to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and permissible tolerances.
